Another Holiday in the Hospital

Thanksgiving, July 4th and now Labor Day...but it feels so good to be here being taken care of. Nurses are changing my dressings, I'm getting pain meds when I need them and I'm getting plenty of sleep. What a great feeling after the hectic pace of last week.
I'm so glad to be in the hospital where I can go to sleep and let others worry about my health. I feel so relieved and peaceful. Last week I was at my wits end, but this weekend, I feel so much better. I'll be in the hospital at least through the weekend and then I'm not sure how much longer. I'm in no hurry to leave because then I'm on my own and it's a full-time job just taking care of myself.
Thanks to all of you for the prayers, flowers, warm thoughts, calls and visits. Love to all of you.

Len,
Psalm 62:6 says "He is my defender; I will not be defeated."
So what is God doing when you are in a bind? When the lifeboat springs a leak? When the rip cord snaps? When the last penny is gone before the last bill is paid?.....I know what we are doing. Nibbling on nails like corn on the cob. Pacing floors. Losing sleep.....
But what does God do?....
He fights for us. He steps in the ring and points us to our corner and takes over. "Remain calm; the Lord will fight for you" Exodus 14:14.
His job is to fight. Our job is to trust.
Just trust. Not direct. Or question...our job is to pray and wait.
This was my devotion from a couple of days ago. It made me think of you and your battle. As you know, I am not good at waiting. But praying I can do!
Rest in the shadow of His wings, Len. He is carrying you.
Praying for you,
Mel

Lenette,
I haven't posted in a while, but this particular post really speaks to me...If only I had all the money necessary, I would gladly give it to you to have the ability to stay in the hospital until you can finally have your transplant. Your experience has taught us all so much. Do not take for granted the ability to take care of yourself. Do not take for granted the ability to rest peacefully with no worries. I could go on forever, but that wouldn't help anything. Instead, I am grateful for the time you can have there with your wonderful caregivers and with that lovely sense of peace. Take care and enjoy your labor-less day. Love & good wishes continue to come your way.
Love ya,
Cindy, Jeff & Chelsea

Lenette,
I think Melodee spoke strongly to the direction we all need to take, trust and he will take care of us! We do not understand or sometimes like the plan in front of us, so we think we should make different arrangements. The good Lord knows what we need and how to get us there if we will just believe in his plan. So glad you are where you need to be right now, your body and mind are loving their stay with their favorite hospital team. Rest and let the plan unfold, rather than you, yourself trying to unfold and fit the plan to you!
hugs and love,
Barb

Lenette,
As you are gaining strength and courage from the wonderful Oncology staff, we have started to put together "Team Lenette" for the Greenway walk on the 18th of October. You have been such an inspiration and great friend to many of us, it is one small way we can honor and celebrate our friendship with you. So, continue to get stronger and just maybe you will be able to help us get the race started by blowing the horn!! Love and hugs!
